Key Points:

This document outlines the requirements for selling Pre-Owned Products on TikTok Shop to ensure product authenticity, quality, and accurate condition disclosure. Pre-owned products are also subject to our Restricted Products Policy. Sellers must comply with both this document and the Restricted Products Policy when listing pre-owned products.

Pre-Owned Products

Pre-owned products are items that were previously owned, used, or secondhand. Any products with packaging that has been opened are also considered pre-owned.

Requirements for Pre-Owned Product Categories

Selling in certain Pre-Owned categories requires additional steps to ensure product authenticity and quality.

Pre-Owned Luxury Bags, Luggage, Accessories, and Footwear may require a category qualification process. This involves submitting documentation to confirm eligibility.
Pre-Owned Apparel, Fine Jewelry, and Luxury Watches are available to invited sellers only.

Permitted Pre-Owned Product Categories

Pre-Owned Luxury Bags, Luggage, and Accessories

efined as authenticated luxury or designer handbags with a minimum list price, the price at which the item is offered for sale on TikTok Shop, of $200. Minimum condition grade must be Good.

Pre-Owned Luxury Footwear

Defined as authenticated footwear with a minimum list price of $50. Minimum condition grade must be Good.

Pre-Owned Luxury Apparel

Invite-only
Defined as authenticated luxury or designer apparel with a minimum list price of $50. Minimum condition grade must be Good.

Pre-Owned Fine Jewelry

Invite-only
Defined as authenticated luxury or designer fine jewelry with a minimum list price of $200. Minimum condition grade must be Good.

Pre-Owned Luxury Watches

Invite-only
Defined as authenticated watches with a minimum list price of $1,000. Minimum condition grade must be Good.

If a seller is unsure between two condition grades, the lower grade must be used. Sellers must not overstate conditions or hide known defects. Material misgrading may result in enforcement action.

Authentication Requirements

All pre-owned products must include a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

Pre-Owned Luxury Bags, Luggage, and Accessories & Footwear	COA can be issued by one of the following: An approved third-party service The seller’s approved in-house authentication program
Pre-Owned Luxury Apparel and Fine Jewelry	COA must come from an approved third-party service
Pre-Owned Luxury Watches	COA must come from the seller’s approved in-house authentication program. Third-party authentication is not accepted.

Certificates must be submitted within 24 hours after purchase. This excludes weekends and holidays.Orders may be canceled automatically if TikTok Shop cannot validate the COA. Sellers are responsible for all costs and inventory losses resulting from non-approved certifications.TikTok Shop's review of any Certificates of Authenticity is a compliance check only. TikTok Shop does not warrant, guarantee, or independently verify the authenticity, condition, or provenance of any pre-owned product. Sellers remain solely responsible for the accuracy of all authenticity, condition, and provenance representations.

Approved Third-Party Authentication Services and Agencies

Pre-Owned Luxury Bags, Luggage, Accessories, Footwear, Apparel, and Fine Jewelry are eligible for third-party authentication when verified by an approved service.

Real Authentication	The determination is based on external markings, craftsmanship, and other visible characteristics, as assessed through the images and information provided

LegitApp	Digital-only, expert-led and AI-assisted assessments based solely on photos, videos, and metadata submitted
CheckCheck	Digital authentication opinions for sneakers, luxury handbags, and other listed categories, based on user-submitted images and information.

Luxury Watch Listing Requirements

Sellers offering pre-owned luxury watches must clearly disclose:

Brand, model, and reference number
Whether the original box, warranty card, manual, purchase receipt, extra links, and other papers or accessories are included
Service history, including the last known service date and whether the service was performed by an authorized or independent servicer, or a statement that no service history is available
Whether any dial, bezel, crystal, bracelet, clasp, movement component, or other material part is aftermarket, replacement, or non-factory
Whether the watch is assembled from mixed non-factory parts or otherwise constitutes a “franken” build

Claims that are unsupported or otherwise inaccurate must be avoided. This includes, but is not limited to:

"All original" when non-factory parts are present
"Full set" when material boxes, papers, or accessories are missing
"Guaranteed to appreciate" or similar value claims

Order and Fulfillment Requirements

Dispatch and Authentication

For pre-owned products that need post-sale authentication, the dispatch timeline starts after TikTok Shop approves the COA.

Proof of Delivery, Signature Confirmation, and Insurance

Sellers are required to purchase signature confirmation or Signature on Delivery.
Sellers are required to purchase shipping insurance if their pre-owned products have a value of $250 or more.
Sellers must provide evidence if there is a payment dispute or if the customer does not receive the item.

Order Cancellation and Returns

Sellers must allow a 1-hour cancellation window after a purchase.
Customers may request cancellation after this window. Sellers are not obligated to accept.
Returns and refunds are only eligible for items that are damaged or defective upon arrival.

Enforcement Actions and Appeals

TikTok Shop regularly reviews shops, listings, videos, livestreams, and seller activity for compliance with this document and the Restricted Products Policy. If any violations are identified, TikTok Shop may take enforcement action at its sole discretion. This may include, but is not limited to:

Deducting points from the seller's Account Health Rating
Removing product listings
Revoking the seller's access to offer products for sale
Issuing refunds to customers
Removing non-compliant content
Interrupting or restricting livestream activity
Suspending category access for repeated or serious violations
